Day two

In October 2015 I'd seen hyacinth bulbs for sale in a lovely bowl with little gold stones instead of soil to plant the bulbs in.  Being a creative sort - not to say a bit thrifty I purchased a back of bulbs for a quarter of the price, then using a pyrex dish and glass beads and stones I already had, "planted and watered" the bulbs.

stored the dish under the sink until they started to grow before moving them to the windowsill and waited for Christmas.

The flowers didn't bloom until New Year, but I am so pleased with them.  OK they may not look as neat as those in the lovely bowl but I love them, plus I watched as all the roots grew.

Being Positive - Introduction

This is a New Blog for a New Year

I want to be positive daily - I plan to be like Pollyanna and find something good, positive, pretty or fun every day.

Some background information about me.  I had a Blog in 2011 to help me deal with severe depression - my GP told me I was not able to work but with the help and support of friends on Twitter, some tablets, a counsellor and a lovely daughter I am no longer depressed, I still have some low days where I'm fed up, but no longer sink to such depths of despair.

I am currently not working following surgery so have no excuse for not completing daily updates.

So starting New Year's Day I will post at least one thing to be positive about.
